Olleco’s achievements delivering sustainable solutions to the food industry were ‘highly commended’ by judges at the Renewable Energy Association annual awards ceremony last night.

The 20th May saw Sainsbury’s Leven, Kirkcaldy, Linlithgow and stores across Edinburgh launch a trial of recycling banks for cooking oils. The aim of the trial is to encourage customers to recycle their waste cooking oil, whilst also saving their kitchen sink from blockages often caused when oils are poured down the drain.

Last night Olleco was a finalist at the prestigious Guardian Sustainable Business Awards. Attended by the top green companies in the country, we beat off stiff competition from the likes of Unilever Supply Chain Company AG and Veolia to be crowned the winners of the Waste Innovation award.
